NBA Betting – Youth meets experience in Boston
Oklahoma City may have been looking at Final Four odds over the past couple of weeks, which would explain their inconsistency following a five-game winning streak. The Thunder will head to Boston on Wednesday for the second half of a back-to-back, and they’ll be facing a Boston team looking to redeem themselves after they were booed out of the Garden on Sunday.
Thunder vs Celtics odds – Wednesday, March 31, 7:30 PM ET
The Thunder will be in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and they’ll be out to bounce back from a 92-87 loss in Portland on Sunday. Kevin Durant led the way with 29 points and 13 rebounds for the Thunder, who made just three of their 15 three-point attempts and committed 16 turnovers, which cancelled out a 41-34 edge on the glass. Sportsbook players are wondering how the young Thunder will deal with the stretch run into the postseason, as most of their starting rotation should probably still be in school. Still, they may be the scariest team for any of the top four in the East to face in the first round.
The Celtics were embarrassed 94-73 on Sunday at home by San Antonio, and this is no knock on the Spurs because they’re an experienced team, but Boston has been routed at home a few times this season and that has to be worrying to Celtics fans, or those looking to wager on them. Paul Pierce scored 18 points to lead the way for the Celtics, who shot 37% from the field, and they were outscored 50-30 in the second half. It’s going to be an interesting postseason for the Celtics, who aren’t even close to the invincible unit they were two years ago. Injuries and age have crept up to bite the Celtics, but they’ll have to pick it up a bit.
NBA betting odds should favor the Celtics at home, as the Thunder have lost nine of their last 10 in Boston, and six in a row overall to the Celtics. Boston went to Oklahoma City and throttled the Thunder 105-87 in a dominating performance, as seven Boston players reached double figures while shooting 56.5% from the field, while Durant’s 36 points were the lone highlight for the Thunder, who were outrebounded 40-30. However, that was before Garnett went down with a knee injury, and Pierce suffered a few bumps, and we don’t know how tough the Celtics are anymore. The Thunder are almost as good on the road as they are at home, and the Celtics are ripe for the picking. The Thunder have the legs to hang in the second half of a back-to-back, and they should have an easy night prior to their Boston trip, so go with Oklahoma City for the sports betting upset.

NBA Betting – Spurs continue tough stretch against red-hot Cavs
Take a break from your March Madness odds for a minute, and check out what San Antonio has to go through to try and wrap up their spot in the NBA playoffs: first, they hosted the Lakers on Wednesday, then on Friday, the Spurs will go up against Cleveland, before Sunday’s trip to Boston. That’s three of the league’s top seven teams in five days, a tough ask of anyone in the league.
Cavaliers vs Spurs odds – Friday, March 26, 8:30 PM ET
The Cavaliers pulled away from New Orleans with a strong third quarter on Wednesday, outscoring them 35-23 in a 105-92 win on the road. LeBron James shot 15-of-22 from the field, going for 38 points, while adding nine assists and six boards for the Cavaliers, who shot 57.1% from the floor, and they are now reworking Zydrunas Ilgauskas back into the lineup. The big center was involved in the Antawn Jamison deal from Washington, but he was bought out and allowed to return to Cleveland, who selected “Big Z” back in the 1996 draft. With Shaquille O’Neal still injured, it helps to have another big body in the lineup, and it doesn’t hurt that Ilgauskas already knows their system.
The Spurs fell just short in a 92-83 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Wednesday, as Manu Ginobili and George Hill combined for 45 points. The problem is, no one else scored more than Roger Mason’s nine points, and sportsbook players will be on the lookout for a return to health from Tony Parker. Tim Duncan had 12 boards, six assists and three assists, but he was held to six points on 2-of-11 shooting.
The Spurs should be favored by sportsbook odds (sportsbook reviews) at home in San Antonio, where the Cavaliers have lost seven of their last 10, although they have won their last two trips there. These two met in Cleveland on March 8th, with the Cavaliers escaping with a 97-95 win, and that was without James, who had a sprained ankle. Six players reached double figures for the Cavaliers, led by 17 points each from Jamison and Mo Williams, while Ginobili exploded for 38 points in a losing effort for the Spurs. The Cavaliers have won nine in a row heading into this game, and James is averaging 28.6 points, 8.8 assists and 8.2 boards in his last five outings. The Spurs are going to have to find a way to contain him, or at least slow him down, take away his options. The Cavaliers’ supporting cast must make some shots against the Spurs, who have some offensive problems of their own. San Antonio has scored more than 100 points just four times in 13 games with Parker on the sideline, and the offense is idling. Go with Cleveland on the road before checking out your college basketball odds.
NBA Betting Lines – Cleveland Cavaliers – New Orleans Hornets
The Hornets have struggled after being considered a playoff contender before the season began. After witnessing the National Football League’s Saints win the title for the city, New Orleans’ basketball team has dealt with both off court and on court adversity, including financial problems that have kept the team from putting a more complete roster on the floor. In contrast, the Cavaliers are once again the march madness betting cream of the crop in the association this season. However, the goal is still the same this year as it was last, and Cleveland basketball fans will not be satisfied until a sports championship is finally brought to their beloved city.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ New Orleans Hornets
Wednesday March 23, 2010 – 8PM ET
Sportsbook Reviews Odds: Cavaliers -400
The Cavaliers own the best record in basketball once again, a 56-15 that has them three and a half games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for the best record in the association. Although it is not a championship title, it will be an important key to securing one if Cleveland can secure home court advantage throughout the playoffs and in the NBA Finals should they get that far. Whether it is at home or on the road, against division or conference rivals or out west where they own a 21-6 mark against out of conference teams, the Cavaliers have been absolutely dominant this season, and now bring with them a seven-game winning streak to the city of New Orleans.
The Hornets can only envy the success of the NBA’s sportsbook best. After making strides a season ago, and with one of the best young players in the game today in point guard Chris Paul, New Orleans was expected to contend for a postseason spot this year. However, the Hornets learned very quickly that in a deep Western conference, where the top teams have at least two or even three or four star players, you need a lot more than one great star to contend. The Hornets remain a respectable 22-12 on home court this season, so the fans can find solace in something, and while they won’t beat the Cavaliers, it will give the home crowd an opportunity to appreciate mega star Lebron James, and a chance to see how far they are from being a contender.
NBA Betting Pick: Cavaliers -400
NBA Betting Lines Over/Under: 188
Despite being the best team in the association, and boasting a plethora of offensive options including arguably the best player in the sport Lebron James, the Cavaliers are not ranked in the top-five in scoring. Cleveland ranks ninth in scoring, and on several occasions has used its incredible defense to shut down opponents, and that could be the case here against a Hornets team that ranks 17th in average scoring. If you are tired of betting on the March Madness odds, this is the perfect chance to make some money.
